Types and functions of wire and cable sheath
Lead sheath: It is characterized by easy welding, corrosion resistance, easy processing, and good bending performance. The disadvantage is that the resistivity is high, the weight is heavy, it is easy to cause soil and water pollution, and it is easy to crack after a long time of use.
Aluminum sheath (aluminum clad): easy to corrode, difficult to seal and connect, but light in weight, rich in resources, and greater in mechanical strength than lead sheath. The general aluminum sheath is made into corrugated shape. The disadvantage is that it is easy to corrode and needs outer sheath protection. It is divided into three types of aluminum sheaths: arc welding, horizontal continuous casting and rolling and vertical continuous casting and rolling.
Copper sheath: For large-section cables that require large short-circuit capacity, copper sheath can be used. In order to increase the bending performance, it can be processed into corrugated copper sheath.
PVC sheath: mainly used for PVC and XLPE insulated cables. Its disadvantage is that its heat resistance and cold resistance are poor, but its flame retardant performance is good, and the smoke generated during the combustion process is toxic.
Polyethylene sheath: its dielectric strength is higher than that of polyvinyl chloride, its heat resistance and cold resistance are better than that of polyvinyl chloride, and its water resistance is also stronger than that of polyvinyl chloride, but its flame retardant performance is poor.
Zhenglan Cable mainly supply PE & PVC related materials made sheathed cables. If you have such needs, welcome your inquiry.
